General: Most owners and property management firms require that they be named as additional insured and that they be provided a current copy of the insurance certificate. This provides a level of protection and also assures that they will receive proper notification of cancellation and renewal.

A. M. Best Rating: A. M. Best rates insurance underwriters for financial soundness, much like Moody’s or Standard and Poor’s rate the ability of corporations and governments to repay their obligations. Insurance Certificates: Statements such as “Insurance Certificates are available upon request” are not adequate assurance that a window cleaning contractor has obtained proper coverage. The customer must inspect the certificate to be sure it is current and that the limits are correct and that the underwriters are financially sound.
